May 3, 2022The Optiband is a haptic navigation aid designed with the help of our blind stakeholder at Oregon State University, that uses vibrations to inform a user of their surroundings up to 15 meters from them. The Optiband was designed to be non-obtrusive and intuitive to use, while also being reliable and providing more independence to the user. The Optiband can be described as a 50 foot invisible cane.
